Thailand and Cambodia - 9 days

Thailand, formerly known as Siam, was one of the countries that saw a spurt in its economy since 1995. This sudden spurt has created a unique atmosphere as highlighted through its opulent architecture. Study Traditional Vs New through visits to iconic towers, temples, markets and unversities before we head out to the neighbouring country.

Angkor Wat is the world's largest Hindu temple complex, is an experience for any visitor Cambodia. Vann Molyvann, the father of Cambodian architecture, lives through his projects spread across Cambodia. We make an intricate study of his major work throughout the tour. From there, we pay tribute to the victims of one of the worst political regimes the world has seen.

ITINERARY: The daily activities included and not limited to that listed below

Day 1: 23rd March - Bangalore-Colombo-Rome

Welcome to the tour! You shall meet up with the tour guide and other participants at Kempegowda international airport, Bangalore at 4:30 pm IST. Short briefing; after check in and immigration, we shall proceed to board the Srilankan Airlines to Rome.

Day 2: 24th March – Rome – Florence

Arrive Rome at 7:55 am. Airport transfer to Roma Termini where we will travel @ 300kmph to Florence. Check in at hostel and be ready to visit modern and contemporary Italian architecture. Stazione Santa Maria Novella (Giovanni Michelucci), Opera House (ABDR associates). Free time for night walks & shopping through the city. (Overnight stay in hostel)

Day 3: 25th March – Florence / Optional visit to Pisa)

Today we will enjoy the marvellous city centre of Florence, the city of Medici family, and its highlights. Be ready for the city walking tours. Places of visit: Santa Maria Novella Santa Maria del Fiore Piazza Signoria Palazzo Vecchio Ponte Vecchio David (Michelangelo). (Overnight stay in hostel)

Day 4: 26th March – Venice

Take the morning train to Venice. Check in at hotel, freshen up and get ready for the city walking tour. Canal Grande Rialto bridge San Marco square and tower Basilica di San Marco Palazzo Ducale. Free time for night walks & shopping through the city. (Overnight stay in hotel)

Day 5: 27th March – Venice / Optional Visit to Murano & Burano

Free day to explore Venice or Optional Visit to Murano/ Burano Islands. (Overnight stay in hotel).

Day 6: 28th March – Venice

Walking tour of Venice: Constitution Bridge (Santiago Calatrava). Visit to OpenLab Architettura, Padova. Meeting with faculty of IUAV. Free time for night walks through the city. (Overnight stay in hotel).

Day 7: 29th March - Amsterdam

After early check out, take the flight from Marco Polo Airport to Amsterdam. Airport transfers to hotel and check in.
Walking tour through Old Amsterdam: The Old Church and the Jewish Quarter, Royal Palace, The National Monument, The Red Light District, The Dutch East India Company. Evening free to explore Amsterdam.

Day 8: 30th March - Amsterdam

Today we will understand the Contemporary Architecture of Amsterdam: we start off with the Concert Hall Tour, Animal Refuge, Arcam, Stedelijk Museum, Nemo Science Museum, The Whale Builing, EYE Dutch Flim Museum, Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ. Optional Visits: Anne Frank Museum & Van Gogh Museum. Evening is free to explore Amsterdam. (Overnight stay in hotel)

Day 9: 31st March – Rotterdam

Early Checkout and transfers to Rotterdam. Meeting with Local Architecture Studio and tour of contemporary architecture of Rotterdam: Markthal Quarter, Rotterdam Centraal, Erasmus Bridge, Spijkenisse Library and more.
Evening is free to explore Rotterdam.

Day 10: 1st April – Rotterdam – Vatican City

After Breakfast, check out of the hotel and go for the meeting with Interior Architecture University or Exhibition Space. Head to the airport in the afternoon to reach Rome. Airport transfer and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 11: 2nd April – Vatican City

Today we shall visit the heart of Vatican State: St. Peter's Church, Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. Head to the airport to board the flight to Colombo. (Overnight Flight)

Day 12: 3rd March – Bangalore

Unwind for a day in Colombo at a 3 star hotel (meals included) and head to the airport. Departure from Colombo at 6:55 p.m. to reach Bangalore at 8:15 pm. Time to say goodbye to your new friends.
